Industrial Rubber Roller

What are Industrial Rubber Rollers?

An industrial rubber roller is a machine part composed of an inner round shaft or tube covered by an outer layer of elastomer compounds. The inner shaft is made of steel, aluminum alloys, or other strong and rigid material composites. The outer layer is typically made from a polymer such as polyurethane, silicone, EPDM, neoprene, and natural rubber.

The properties of rubber rollers – impact strength, shock absorption, abrasion and chemical resistance, high coefficient of friction, and controllable degree of hardness – make them ideal for handling manufactured goods without potentially causing damage, unlike metal rollers.

What Are Industrial Rubber Rollers Used For?

Rubber and urethane rollers are used extensively in numerous industries, including:

  • Paper production
  • Plastic production
  • Film and foil production
  • Packaging

Rubber Rollers Are Used in Different Manufacturing Processes for Performing Operations Such As:

  • Pushing and Pulling
  • Material Conveying
  • Squeezing and Wringing
  • Straightening
  • Cooling and Uncooling
  • Pressing
  • Laminating
  • Driving
  • Deflecting
  • Feeding
  • Spreading
  • Coating
  • Grains Milling
  • Pushing
  • Pulling
  • Wringing
  • Straightening
  • Coiling/Uncoiling
  • Driving
  • Deflecting
  • Metering
  • Embossing
  • Tensioning
  • Converting
  • Sanding (belt)
  • Cutting (bandsaw)
  • Sorting

Servicing Your Rubber Rollers

Rubber rollers protect, squeeze, feed, insulate, and move products, and there’s a different size required for every job. Depending on the task at hand, the right roller for the job has to have the correct bearing rating, axle deflection, and tube strength. They have to be made of appropriate materials and have proper finish.

Electro-Coatings can recondition, recover, and repair all type of rubber rollers with all types of finishes:

  • Smooth
  • High Polish
  • Micro Polish
  • Matte
