Nye-Kote™ is an electroless nickel coating that solders easily, while providing valuable strength and protection to the base component.
Exceptionally high levels of adhesion strength, ductility and surface hardness create a strong and lasting bond between Nye-Kote and a wide range of metallic substrates. In addition, the chemical application process of this exclusive Electro-Coatings product creates a highly regular coating consistency across all surfaces of a component. This allows strict control of coating density (including thickness regulation to +/- 10%) for the maintenance of precise dimensional tolerances.
Nye-Kote also delivers a range of attributes for unique electrical/electronic applications:
- High levels of friction resistance
- Corrosion protection, due to phosphorus in the coating matrix
- Heat resistance to 1630° F
- Optional formulations for special applications, including Nye-Tef for greater friction reduction and Nye-Carb for higher levels of wear resistance
- Copper, nickel and Kanigen electroless nickel plating also available for easy solderability
