PTFE Coating for Friction Control

Nye-Tef™: PTFE Coating

Nye-Tef™ is an exclusive Electro-Coatings solution. A fusion of electroless nickel and PTFE, it is ideal for applications requiring both high performance in coating adhesion and exceptional friction resistance.

Benefits include:

Nye-Tef™ consists of an autocatalytically-applied nickel/phosphorus matrix containing submicronic particles of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene). While soft in its natural form, PTFE becomes exceptionally durable when suspended in the electroless nickel matrix. Nye-Tef™ combines electroless nickel’s hardness of 48Rc with the natural friction resistance of PTFE, resulting in a coating that can resist significant abrasion over a long working life. A non-crystalline molecular structure adds resistance to corrosion and wear due to abrasion.

The use of electroless nickel also delivers a coating with excellent adhesion and extremely uniform coating thickness, with documented accuracy to ±10% as an assurance of consistent coverage. The non-electrolytic application technology of Nye-Tef™ provides completely uniform coating, including full coverage of hidden surfaces or intricate geometries.

Expert PTFE coating application
