Kanigen Electroless Nickel for Uniform Thickness

Superior electroless nickel for uniform thickness
Our exclusive, sophisticated electroless nickel coating provides coverage of consistent depth over a component's entire geometry. The coating is transferred to the substrate by chemical reaction rather than an electrical charge (as in electroplating) or spraying/dipping (as in painting), resulting in less build-up along edges and complete coverage on complex component interiors. In response to customer need for fidelity to tight tolerances, we maintain careful control over the chemical reaction in the Kanigen® bath, which allows us to deliver coating thicknesses to an accuracy of ±10%.
The chemical composition of Kanigen and our tightly controlled application process delivers many important bonus attributes:
- Friction control: Kanigen®'s high phosphorus content creates a natural lubricity that minimizes heat buildup and reduces scoring and galling. The consistent smoothness of Kanigen® also distributes the effects of friction evenly across a wear surface. This attribute can be further enhanced by surface polishing.
- Corrosion resistance: Nye-Kote's high phosphorus content reduces the microscopic fissures that are common in hard chrome electroplating, making it far more resistant to corrosion. Chemical content of the coating may be adjusted to deliver the level of corrosion resistance desired by an end user.
- High-performance options: In addition to Kanigen®, Electro-Coatings offers Nye-Tef for superior friction reduction and Nye-Carb for extra wear resistance, along with a full complement of plating and coating options.
