The Kanigen® name has been synonymous with coating performance since its introduction as the first major electroless nickel coating in the 1950s. Today, manufacturers of electrical/electronic components still turn to it for an unbeatable combination of solder receptivity and performance benefits.
The nickel/phosphorus composition of Kanigen® readily accepts a solder joint, and is often applied to metal substrates that are less favorable to a solder bond. Kanigen® delivers exceptional bond strength, high ductility and unvarying performance in high temperature environments, assuring a strong electrical connection in adverse conditions.
Consistency of deposition is a key added advantage of Kanigen®. A chemical application process creates precise coating thicknesses across virtually any component, especially those with large interior diameters or complex geometries. The result is better adherence to precise dimensional tolerances.
Nye-Kote also delivers a range of other attributes to suit special electrical/electronic applications:
- High levels of friction resistance
- Corrosion protection, due to phosphorus in the coating matrix
- Optional formulations for special applications, including Nye-Tef for greater friction reduction and Nye-Carb for higher levels of wear resistance
